THE WORD for the WEEK “I am Blessed and highly Favored”

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you: I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Gen 12:2-3

We live in a world that is full of trouble and seems not to be getting better. When we look at the first 11 books of the Holy Bible, similar stories reflect this world’s failures. The 1st man/woman disobeyed God and were thrown out of an “all-inclusive garden home” in chpt 3. Cain murdered his brother Abel in chpt 4. Noah got drunk and exposed his nudity to his son (chpt 9). Men built a city and tower in rebellion to their Lord. So, rebellion, defiance, shootings/murdering, drunkenness, and disobedience are all common and openly done without hesitation even today. Yet, God in his grace and mercy decided not to zap us all off the planet then neither today nor leave us alone with idiots. God made a man and his wife back then, to leave their home and go to a new land, so that- even up to date- we humans can have a new beginning as believers today. Oh, what a loving God we serve, that considers us humans-even through history to be used by Him today, to be Glory-carriers, to share with others what he has done and brought us through. We are His ambassadors, his handiwork, created in Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Eph 2:10).

“We are Blessed and highly Favored”. The Lord tells us He will make our name “BLESSED”. So, the next time someone asks you your name, tell whomever what the Lord is making your name to be “I am BLESSED. Yes, BLESSED is me TODAY!

“For it is by grace, we have been saved through faith – and this is not from ourselves, it’s The Gift from God – not by works, so that no one can boast (Eph 2:8-9)

Go ahead and bless someone else today.
